Mixed Emotions

Rod and Linda, my awesome in-laws, told us they would be moving to England for three years. Rod has worked at Agri-Northwest, LDS owned farms, for 20+ years. He was planning on retiring in a few years. The company asked him if he would be interested in running some farms in England for 3 years before he retires. They made him an offer he couldn't refuse and they are going!! They will be living in the little country town of Woodwalton.

So, there are a lot of mixed emotions among the Larson family. We are all really excited for them because it's an amazing opportunity! And you know we will have to be going over there to visit! Yeah! But we're all also sad because of how much we will miss them! They are incredible people. Incredible examples.

I hope they come back with accents!! :)

Grandma Dahl's Heart Attack

Scott's Grandma Dahl turned 80 in March. A big surprise party was planned...although Grandma Dahl eventually found out after she thought certain people were acting "suspicious". We made the trip to Utah mainly because of this event. Well, we ladies of the family were trying to think of something nice to do for her that she would really like. So I said, "Why not give her a Heart Attack?" A "Heart Attack", as I was referring to, is not the bad heart attack that has to do with the human body, but an act of kindness and love. You cut out tons of hearts and stick them in the recipients lawn, trees, mailbox, etc. Only you do it as a total surprise. We thought it was perfect. We knew she would appreciate it because we made an extra effort to do something special for her. Proud of our surely successful idea, we told the men of the family the plans. "A heart attack?" They said. "That's the dumbest thing I ever heard!" This is yet another classic example of the way the two different species of men and women think. They didn't get it.
So Whitney, Stephanie and I got to work cutting out hearts and making a couple signs while we were in Utah. Early in the morning of Grandma Dahl's 80 birthday, Whitney and I made the drive from Provo to Midvale to give her a Heart Attack. We practically froze, but it was fun and turned out really cute!! And I am writing this in proof of what we always knew to be true...She LOVED it! It absolutely made her day! And it made us feel good to make her feel good! Happy Birthday Grandma Dahl!!
